The fun House is an excellent all weather option located on the premises of the Hilton Coylumbridge Hotel. Many of you will remember it as the place where you could find Cyril the Squirrel from your childhood trips to Aviemore during family holidays. It is a fantastic establishment with a treehouse play center, 18-hole mini golf mini bowling, video arcade. The American 1950’s themed diner offers children-friendly menus to kick off your visit.
5. Highland Folk Museum, Newtonmore
The Highland Folk Museum is Britain’s first museum open to the public and is located on a land area that is mile long. It is a museum that lives and breathes and invites you to journey into the past. The kids will be thrilled by the play park as well as the township houses, and you could entice them by taking them to an old-fashioned sweetie shop. If you are a fan of the books and TV series Outlander with a cult following, you have come to the right place. In 2014 the 1800s Highland Township was used as filming locations for the TV series.
6. Highland Wildlife Park, Kincraig
In the Highland Wildlife Park you will be able to see Scottish wildlife and endangered species of the world’s mountains and tundra in a gorgeous Highland setting. Home to the UK’s first Polar bear cub that lasted for over 25 years, it’s an exciting moment at the Park. Once you are in the Park you are able to drive around the main park and explore the walk-around area on foot. The Park hosts native wildlife, including that of Scottish Wildcat and Capercaillie as along with Amur Tigers, Snow Leopards, Polar Bears, Northern Lynx, European Grey Wolf and Japanese Macaque. We recommend taking a guided land rover ride around the main park or attending the talks that are held every day. There is no additional cost to your entry ticket this is an excellent way to gain knowledge from conservationists as you drive around.
