As motorists rushed to fill up their vehicles during the panic buying so-called ‘fuel crisis’, traffic jams in Borehamwood blocked off major roads.

Shenley Road and Allum Lane were mainly gridlocked throughout period as drivers sought fuel from the Asda garage, while queues for petrol at Morrisons caused problems on the A1.

Queues at Asda and Morrisons continued, with times that Tesco ran out of diesel.

A former Enfield football coach, Daniel Moss of Dacres Gate in Ongar, was jailed in September to 16 months’ prison after having a sexual relationship with a teenage girl.

He pleaded guilty to two counts of sexual activity with a child and previously admitted having a sexual relationship with a student who attended Lea Valley Academy.

The new department store replacing Debenhams in Harrow town centre was revealed, after the store closed its doors on May 12.
