All About The DJI Osmo Action 3

DJI Osmo Action 3 design

Action 3 Action 3 appears remarkably similar to the original DJI Action camera, which was an excellent camera, however, it may have been a bit too much like GoPro. This Action 3 may still carry the typical look of an action camera however, it’s unique in several key ways. One of them is its magnetic quick release mechanism, that it is a relic of Action 2 Action 2, and which is significantly improved to make it more durable and robust.

This magnetic clip system enables you to attach and unattach the camera from different mounts, or simply fix the camera onto an aluminum surface. Although this system might appear to be unreliable in terms of durability, I can testify for the trustworthiness that the clip has since it remained securely locked and secured to an extension rod that was hung from the window of a car at 40 mph. I’ve used using the Action 2 on top of drones at much higher speeds than the speed of. One important thing to be aware of is that sometimes the magnetic clip does not snap perfectly initially and it’s best to check the connection again.

Action 3 Action 3 is unique in that its front-facing screen has been made touch-sensitive, that allows you to alter settings even when the camera is in front of you, for instance when you shoot vlog-style videos. Since I shoot a lot of YouTube videos that resemble vlogs I am extremely grateful for this feature. I also like The battery doors on Action 2, which is simple to use while remaining water-proof and secure.

DJI Action 3 image quality

If you like the look of the video footage taken by Action 2 Action 2, you’ll also enjoy it with the Osmo Action 3. For me the distinction is almost not noticeable. It’s not necessarily a bad thing however, since Action 2 Action 2 captures great-looking video. Detail is crisp and clear as are the Rocksteady and Horizonsteady image stabilization are extremely efficient. The default color profile is perhaps too saturated, but I personally love the design of it. The D-cinelike color profile is also available for those who prefer more editing flexibility and create your own style when post-processing.

Action 3 Action 3 can shoot in 4K with up to 120fps. It can also shoot with 240 fps up to 1080p. The 1080p resolution is just as mushy and ugly as you’d expect, however, 4k 120fps is pretty impressive. The resolution is limited to 4k that’s fine when you need to share straight-out camera footage with no editing. It’s just not as good with the Hero 11 black’s 5.3k highest resolution or bigger sensor, which provides more flexibility when it comes to post-processing.

DJI Osmo Action 3 vs GoPro Hero 11 Black – Video Quality Comparison

I observed I found that Action 3 outperforms the Hero 11 little in terms video stabilization, whereas The Hero 11 is marginally sharper. The result is that in terms of video quality, both cameras are very even.

One thing I enjoy about the video made using Action 3 Action 3 is that it works very well to similar DJI products. That means that even if you use with a Mini 3 Pro, for instance, to take images from above, they will go well with the style of the footage you capture using Action 3. Action 3.

If you use using a DJI Mini 3 Pro to record video footage from the air, this will go well with the appearance of the footage that you record by Action 3. Action 3.

Action 3 Action 3 puts extra emphasis on the accuracy of colors, thanks to the large sensor to detect the proper white balance of any scene. While it didn’t appear to have any impact in the relatively calm conditions I captured using the camera, it could be beneficial in deep sea diving.

DJI Action 3 display

The front and rear screens in the Action 3 are bright with great colors. Its larger screen on its rear side is more user-friendly as opposed to the smaller screen on the Action 2, and the integrated front screen means that it doesn’t require an additional module to get front-facing displays.

DJI Action 3 durability and waterproofing

Its Osmo Action 3 is remarkable in the way the device can be dropped, and submerged. It is drop-resistant up to five feet , and completely waterproof down to 52 feet deep. It’s also rated to be used between minus four between 113 and negative four degrees. That’s some impressive numbers, and they’re apparent in the incredibly robust appearance on the body of the camera. I am awestruck by the rubber ring that surrounds the lens. It adds security to the most vulnerable area in Action 3. Action 3, though I prefer it to secure itself, because it could be pushed away from the edge of the lens by accident.

Although I didn’t throw the camera around as a hacky sack and I didn’t have the time to attend deep sea diving classes but I did take my Action 3 out hiking and dropped it into the lake. This minor punishment did not bother it. Action 3. If you’re looking for additional drop protection, DJI has housings that are included in the Adventure combination.

There’s a major issue however, in making use of the camera in real life it is that the plates with magnetic properties of the special mounting mechanism have a naive tendency to attract the magnetic particles in sand. It’s not a big problem for however it may cause problems with the locking mechanism, and will require regular cleaning when you are taking it to the beach.

DJI Action 3 battery life

Action 3 Action 3 offers similar battery performance to the other cameras for action, but is able to operate in more extreme temperatures. I managed to get through the typical day of hiking, and also recording without the need to replace the battery. However, if you intend to take longer-lasting shots rather than short highlights as I like to do, then you’ll need to keep spare batteries. The camera is also very quick, taking only an hour to fully charge a battery to 80% capacity.

I have tested my Action 3 with the optional Multifunctional battery case. It is not just an accessory case and charger for three batteries at once and you can charge your smartphone and other USB-C-powered devices with the Action 3 batteries by plugging them into the case. The case also offers extra storage in which you can store two microSD cards.

DJI Action 3 performance and software

I haven’t had any issues with overheating , or other issues with performance when shooting using Action 3. Action 3. This DJI Mimo application can also be used to control the camera in addition to uploading and editing footage.

Audio recording is excellent I’d be comfortable with the Action 3 to shoot vlog-style videos on its on its own. If you’re looking to get greater audio quality, connect into the DJI Mic in the Action 3 and record via the great wireless microphone. When I played with this, it was a very easy plug-and play experience. The only set-up hassle being unclipping the USB-C port off the Action 3 to make way for the DJI Mic.

DJI Osmo Action 3 price and availability

Action 3 is available now. Action 3 is available now with a price starting at $330 price mark. It is also possible to think about moving up to the adventure package of $440 that includes three batteries, a multi-purpose battery case, two extra lens protectors to Action 3, two lens protectors for Action 3, two adhesive base kits, a secure frame and extended rod set. Although it costs $110 more than the price of the base model it is worth it. Adventure kit offers a lot of value, with a variety of accessories at a reduced price to the MSRP for each item.

A rugged action camera that is extremely durable.

Although I’m still not a fan of the innovative design of Action 2, the DJI Osmo Action 3 is an outstanding camera for action that stands with the best from brands like GoPro or Insta360. Although, at the end, I’m not sure that it’s a step ahead of other cameras of this type all-in-all, it has some important advantages.

If you require a more robust camera This is the model to pick, especially with the protective frame that is included. If you’re planning on diving The Action 3 can go all to a depth of 52 feet without a separate diving case. Another major selling point is the quick-release magnetic feature which is certainly beneficial in the event that you require to swap mounts in a hurry. However, as I discovered sandy beaches are the mechanism’s Achilles’ heel.

Action 3 will appeal to those who want to capture action-oriented footage. Action 3 will also appeal to DJI drone pilots seeking cameras that are rugged and can easily complement the look of footage taken by popular drones, such as DJI’s DJI Mini 3 Pro, Mavic 3, or Avata.
