‘Ow do all. Just a quick note to let you know I’ve finally caved in to the ‘Corridor of Uncertainty’ people and agreed to keep an online diary for the coming season – I believe they’re known as blogs on the Interweb. After fifty-three years of looking after the first teams kit, I’d like to think I’ll have a few insights into what it’s like in the Yorkshire dressing room, as well as the ups and downs of the season. After all, if you scrub a man’s smalls for seven months of the year, there’s not much you don’t know about him. Not much you can say to him either. In fact there’s times when you can’t even bring yourself to make eye contact.

I’ll try and keep it as up to date as I can. Although that might be a bit difficult on away trips, as I’ll have to shoo the junior pros away from the coach’s laptop first – Brez and Adil seem to spend ages doing something they call ‘looking up fit profiles on bebo’. I assume ‘bebo’ must be some kind of a gym that keep records of their training routines online. Scott McAllister must be delighted with their dedication to pursuing the body beautiful.

Anyway, I’ll write about the comings and goings of the off-season in the next few days, and from then on it’s not long to wait for the season to start. Let’s hope it’s a cracker.
